1. What the report is for
The report helps a family understand what appeared in the day: meals, food groups, approximate volume, macronutrients, vegetables, calories and fluids.
2. Daily score
The score combines food-group coverage, approximate food volume, macro balance and variety, with a small penalty for excessive sweets or ultra-processed foods when detected.
It is intentionally soft. Nutrition data is approximate because families rarely weigh every spoonful.
3. Food groups
KidEat looks at protein, grains or complex carbohydrates, vegetables, fruit and dairy or suitable alternatives. If a child has a dairy/lactose allergy marker, dairy is not treated as a required group.
4. Partial days
Before evening, or when fewer than two meals are logged, the day may be marked “in progress”. A low morning percentage is normal.
5. Fluids
Water is shown separately. Drinks, soups and liquid dairy can be counted approximately when recognized.
6. Limits
KidEat cannot diagnose nutrient deficiency, allergy safety or medical risk. If you are worried about growth, allergies, selective eating or dehydration, contact a clinician.
