One ordinary day

How KidEat works

Start with what you already remember. One message becomes an approximate preview, then a saved part of the day, and several days begin to show a pattern.

Value first

The profile does not hide the first useful result

For the first child, KidEat starts by analysing food. The profile is created once so the guidance can use the child's context and the entry can be saved safely.

1

Write naturally

A short message, a plate photo or the whole day at once.

2

Check the preview

Foods, portions, calories and macros stay approximate and editable.

3

Create the profile once

Age, local time and explicitly entered restrictions add context.

4

Save it to the diary

Only after confirmation does the entry become part of the child's history.

A real first preview

It shows more than a list of foods

KidEat shows what it recognised, estimates portions and totals calories and macros. Before the profile exists, the daily reference is generic and the result is not saved.

  • Recognition can be corrected.
  • Grams help, but they are optional.
  • Numbers are guidance, not laboratory measurements.
Your first preview is ready 🙌Preliminary result

I recognised:
🌾 Buckwheat porridge — ≈150 g
🥩 Turkey patty — ≈80 g

Approximately in this meal:
🔥 310 kcal🥩 Protein — 21 g🥑 Fat — 8 g🍞 Carbs — 37 g

That is about 22% of the generic daily energy reference. After the profile, KidEat can use the child's available context.

Not saved to the diary yet.
Then comes real life

Small entries become a day

Breakfast at home, confirmed kindergarten lunch, a snack in the car, water and dinner stay together — even when different adults add them.

A photo when typing is too much

A caption can clarify the meal type.

The whole day in one message

KidEat separates breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner.

A menu starts as a plan

It joins the eaten picture only after attendance is confirmed.

Family access

Another adult can add their part of the day.

The point

One day is a snapshot. A week starts to show what repeats.

The daily percentage does not grade the child or parent. It reflects only the approximate picture KidEat can build from the saved food records.

You do not need to reconstruct the whole day first

Start with one meal. Add the rest when it comes back to you.
